He starts making well-meaning, though unannounced visits, conveniently enough, when Crowley’s husband is away. These encounters spark a series of unforeseen twists and turns in an intricate dance of love, deception, and unexpected alliances.

Alpha, king, angel-- Aziraphale is set on a course to select a mate from the one hundred tributes his chief advisor, Saraqael, has gathered for him. As king, it is his duty to get married, mated, and produce heirs.
Crowley is an omega, a demon, and a tribute-- an unholy trinity for the demon who has had nothing but bad luck since his parents were killed in the war, most notably by the mother of the king that he's been sent off to potentially marry.
Well, Aziraphale will go along with the marriage and the mating, but he has no intention of producing any heirs. He selects one the tributes, the sole demon omega among the hundred, and makes a deal. He'll give him a luxurious life where he's free to live however he wishes in the sea palace, hundreds of miles away, and Aziraphale gets his mate that has no desire to give him any heirs while living in the main palace with his books.
However, as the angel and the demon grow closer together, through pleasant encounters and hateful characters, they start to realize that the deal might not be as simple as they hoped. That despite all their differences, they just might have been made for each other from the start.

Two little problems: the first being that Crowley isn't sure he wants to marry Lucifer, but how often are arranged marriages ever actually welcomed by both parties? That's something Crowley can look past, but he has a secret that could spell scandal and danger if it's discovered, and the closer he gets to Lucifer, the more likely it will be revealed.
It doesn't help matters when a complete stranger and commoner by the name of Aziraphale sweeps in like an angel to help Crowley in a time of need, blossoming into a relationship neither one expects.
