The Core needed everything to fall into place, and they didn’t trust Andrias to see it done. No, it wanted to do this itself. So when Andrias tried to shy away from the idea of killing Wit.
It got an idea. A devilish idea. Of course, if its plan was going to work it would have to become almost transparent, hidden in the folds of her mind. The Core didn’t mind this. After all, it had been stuck in a basement for many years.
So when it finally inhabited the body of someone so spunky. It was pleased. Seeing the world through the girl's eyes. For all it had to do was wait and bide its time. Hidden in the mind of Wit.

It was a fairly simple plan. Defeat Sasha and Grime, give the box to Andrias and then get him to send the three of them home-even if they had to put Sasha in a strangle hold to stay still and go through the portal. But nooo. Everything had to be complicated, and now Andrias had a box that could seemingly control the, what did he say? The Calamity Trio?
In less complex terms, True Colours is basically where all the crap in the world hits the fan, Anne gets shot in the heart by magic, Sasha throws her toad dad out of a castle window, and Marcy, for a change, isn’t the one that gets stabbed by a flaming sword.
