The scars on her body and the fuzziness in her brain could not be accounted, for Renella Tozier had blocked out much of the past twenty-seven years. Living a life of leisure one could not fathom outside of magazine covers and story-book blurbs, the woman grown had assumed the rest of her days would be spent in lavish country clubs and dipping her toes in the warm white sands of her Florida beachhouse.
However, after a phone call from her hometown in Maine spins her perfectly kept world into a frenzy, perhaps Renella’s carefully-crafted image is nothing more than a farce, concealing what the heart truly desires and what the past has yet to uncover.
In 1989, Renella had been a scared and frightened girl. In 2016, Renella was a maintained basket case dressed in silks. Neither of which could ever recall a time when IT would come to a permanent end.

Defeating a demon clown twice, once at thirteen, will do that to a guy. But this is crazy. They're stood there, both of them, clean and tidy and incredibly alive. Which isn't possible! Richie had watched Eddie die, watched as he'd been ripped from his arms, impaled straight through the chest. And as for Stan, he hadn't even been in Derry, he'd died before they'd even stepped foot over the county line. But they're both here, and they're talking, and they haven't noticed the other five crowding the entrance of the Townhouse bar, covered in grime and muck and blood, staring at them in complete shock.

Nothing changed when they killed It because everyone in this stupid town is still all hate filled monsters. And maybe it was hopeful thinking on his part, some weird delusion that little thirteen year old him came up with. That when he had rolled over to sleep that night, in the morning everything would be different and he could just breathe. Looking back on that thought now, as Richie is sat on the steps of one of the entrances to Derry, Maine’s only high school, wiping at fresh wet blood dripping down his face with his hands, he feels like he could laugh.
It’s humorous for a few points: Richie Tozier is not gay, so why would he ever wish for a freedom he already has. Derry, Maine will never change, no matter what sewer dwelling fucker they kill. And Richie Tozier is not gay.
Or, Richie's long winded battle with self acceptance.
