Summary
A city, now known as the “Dead City”, has long since been devoid of human life, overrun by a virus and its living, hungry offspring. Upon extinction, the humans left behind their robot companions, who have now developed sentience and their own culture, even amidst desperation. One of these Companion robots, who goes by the name of Momo, dreams to one day reopen the city and go outside of its walls. After crossing paths with a certain furry organic and its flying drone, Momo realises that there is still hope yet. After this discovery, Momo readies himself to embark on a perilous journey, accompanied by the furry creature and it's friend, when his fellow Outsider, Doc, insists on joining them.
The two bots have been close friends since the formation of the Outsider organisation, both working towards the same goal: striving for a better life for their race. Now, however, they are the only Outsiders left, and are alone on their journey to save their city.
Only, there is a problem. More striking than the Zurk threat and the fate of their entire race weighing on his back.
Momo is feeling emotions unfamiliar to his code.

Walled City 99 is opened up to the Outside, and it's ceiling is exposed to the sky, for the 1st time in over 7 million years! All the Outsiders, the Slum residents, and the MIdtown citizens get to see Sunlight for the first time ever! The different threats they all have had, are at least mitigated, if not fully eliminated. But what now? Do they stay in the city with sunlight and clouds over their heads? Do they go out into the Wild Outside to see what it's like? How do all kinds of relationships, friendship and otherwise, develop and evolve with this huge change in their lives and surroundings? Friends can reunite, responsibilities can be eased, or at least change. How do they solve other problems and what choices do they make as their lives continue?
Because life isn't just about "living happily ever after" when one big goal or challenge is met; it's about how you grow from that and continue on with your life, and what choices you make next! Life keeps going for all these wonderful characters, so This is the story of One possible Way that they Continue on with their Lives...

It could have been another quiet and relaxing day at the Carousel Boutique for Opal. Taking a nap while Rarity worked diligently on her collections, admiring Rarity's work (or finding it repulsive), playing with the Mane 6's other pets, cat toys, or Rarity's tailoring tools. Just cat things. If only she hadn't let her curiosity get the better of her and stepped too close to a magical portal that catapulted her into a completely different universe.
Well, as the saying goes: curiosity killed the cat. Except that no cat dies here, but simply undertakes an (unwanted) dimensional journey.
It's also my very first work here at AO3, so I can't entirely guarantee that it will look good. I hope you still like it to some extent. Have fun ;)
