The Winter Soldier was silent, quiet, deadly. He did not speak unless he was told, he did not breath until they told him to breathe. The Soldier lived for HYDRA and would die for HYDRA. Perhaps that's why they placed him here, to guard the one they called "Persephone". They told him she was highly volatile, dangerous, a serial murderer. But she spoke to him like he was human. That was their first mistake- putting him here.

Summary
Bucky Barnes has a lot to contend with in the 21st century, one of them being Steve Rogers's absence- the other his tendency to drown himself in alcohol. Sam tries to take the worse parts and make them better, even if that's just taking horrible to tolerable. After the fight with those Flag Smashers and his completion of making amends- or well, his near completion, anyways.
There was one name left on the list.
Brock Rumlow’s life was fucked the moment he gained conciousness as a wee, five years old.
If you ever asked him what his first memory was– not that he’d answer– he would stare at you, take a swig of beer, and talk about his father’s psychopathic tendencies, especially his obsession with blood. Brock remembered red the most– a deep, crimson red. It was blood from being punched and kicked– blood from his mother being thrown around the house like a rag doll.

Summary
Reader has been enhanced through experimentation, she has blood control abilities, and is part of British S.H.E.I.L.D. She and a group of others are sent to the US as a part of an integration program between the sister agencies.
Reader befriends Bucky Barnes (the winter soldier), their relationship grows until Bucky relapses into the winter soldier and attacks her, straining their already odd relationship.Reader is characterised as odd/weird and has slight obsessive tendencies.
I decided to write this cuz I really like Bucky fics when he relapses into the WS however I can never find any where he doesn't immediately turn back without there being much damage done (I love the angst lol); so TW lots of violence and gore as he almost kills her ;p
The timeline isn't canonical although it's set sometime before infinity war when Bucky is still battling with the winter soldier. reader is also covered in scars because of the circumstances surrounded how she got her abilities.-
