Summary
His eyes were clear. In pain and weariness, beneath a haze of growing infection, they were clear yet. Wide and perceptive, and Cee felt, momentarily, that she could hardly bear to meet them.
“Your father,” Ezra said, “died the moment he set foot to the Green. You knew this.”

The road home: Cee and Ezra more or less immediately post-canon.

Summary
“First sign of trouble,” he murmured. “You can make the call, whatever might inspire it. We’ll end our quest and carry on two points richer, no harm done.”
She looked back at him -- at the earnest, honest expression that she’d come to recognize, come to believe despite how long it had taken her to warm up to its possibility -- and she bit the inside of her cheek.
“Fine--”
Ezra grinned.
“--But I still don’t trust her.”
“You don’t trust anybody,” he replied, heading toward the doorway, his grin turning to a smirk.
“I trust you,” she muttered.
Or: After the Green, Ezra and Cee take a job that feels a little too familiar and, of course, goes wrong in all of the ways it possibly could, leaving them fighting cave-ins, cracked helmets, and creatures that definitely aren't just channel rats.

Summary
If grief didn't have the grip on her father that it did, he never would've made her look for work. Legally, she couldn't work anywhere-no one would hire a kid under sixteen.
She had no hope. No beaming outlook on her situation. No understanding of why, or how exactly it helped their future.
All it took was one man who understood, and who made her future of work, and her future as a growing adult in a messy household, not all bad.
Or, after an argument, Damon makes Cee find a job. The new area of her life isn’t without difficulty, but it goes so much better than she ever could’ve imagined.

Summary
“I had a dream,” she said. Perched on the raised edge of his bunk, the berth’s only other piece of furniture a low-slung stool Ezra had taken to with a grunt and a crackling of joints. He eyed her in the way she’d never liked—Cee couldn’t face up to him as well when she felt that he liked her. “A nightmare, I guess.”
“On this matter I’d suppose you to possess more certainty,” he said, “as you wakened fit to wake the dead with you, or so I’ve been led to believe."

Summary
“Dig.”
When a rusty-looking shovel was thrown at him, Ezra stumbled backwards slightly, instinctively reaching up to catch it against his chest. He blinked at his captor in confusion, assessing him inch by inch to see if he was serious.
They were quite an intriguing party, these fellas. [...] The one standing before him, a tall, skinny-looking man with a white mustache that didn't suit him and a buzz cut hidden under a fedora, seemed void of anything that would make him into something of a person. He stood ramrod straight, staring at Ezra with a gaze too empty for a living being but with enough disdain not to be described as robotic.
“Dig,” he repeated again when Ezra didn't react, not a single muscle twitching in his face.

Summary
Ezra left one of the flowers in the grass and pocketed the other. He stood, eyeing the open meadow in front of them. “How about that sunrise before we depart?”
Cee only nodded, her hands still focused on the flowers. “Yeah… let’s do it. We still need to find a good spot.”
“I noticed an overlook nearby on our descent. The walk isn’t that far, we don’t want to miss it.”

Summary
Inspired by a prompt from a creative writing assignment, which immediately made me want to write a cute fic based on Cee writing to Ezra about a year and a half or so "After Launch" (or my first Prospect fic I uploaded to Aooo!).
Written from the perspective of my favorite Southern Gentleman: In which Ezra receives letters from his adopted space daughter while she's at school, and he contemplates how the course of his life has so unalterably changed, and most assuredly for the better.
