Which was of course why the first thing Haley said to him once they sat together in their next class, was, “He’s so attracted to you!”
“How did you get there from ‘I think Alex is a meathead jock'?” Alex sighed, rubbing his temples. “I overheard all of that, by the way.”
“Good, then you must also have heard how he praised your good looks!”
“You mean when he said that I’m way too concerned with them and it made me stupid?”
Haley waved her pencil about, like a teacher trying to explain a difficult concept. “It’s about reading between the lines!”
“Look - I’m not good at reading the lines, period. I’m not sure what you want me to find between them.”
“Love!” Haley proclaimed, throwing her arms up. “And a handjob!"

Summary
Moving to the countryside from the bustling and busy city was not an easy feat for Y/N. Pelican Town was a completely new palette of colours, sights and smells. Waking up to the lingering of fresh grass and salty seas surely differed from the clouded musk of her prior home, albeit still new and confusing. The same could be said for the people in the town, so sure of their character and tightly-knit, it was like nothing Y/N had ever experienced.
Especially him, and her strange new feelings for the brooding boy from the mountains who she had always imagined unsightly and disagreeable.
Will Y/N ever become used to her new life in the country? Will she ever settle in to this new, small town?
Written by me, inspired by Stardew Valley. Originally uploaded to Wattpad under the name 'Be Kind' as a SebastianXOC fanfiction. I'll probably update this every week with new chapters so stay tuned!

"If I disappeared, would anyone really care?" Lately, that thought seems to be the only thing on Sebastian's mind these days. No matter where Sebastian looks, there's no doubt in his mind: he feels trapped. He's steadily working his way to freedom out of his suffocating basement, but feels stifled by his own family, who all seem to love Sebastian but can't seem to understand him or his way of life. He tries to escape through role-playing Solarion Chronicles and practicing music with Sam and Abigail, but games and music will only get a guy so far from the anxieties and doubts that cloud his mind. Sebastian needs a new escape, another place to run away and disappear into, and lucky for him, he meets the New Farmer just in time, who is itching for her own adventure. Together, they venture into the mountain caves to explore as a way to escape their claustrophobic realities. Along the journey, they have to figure out a way to work as a team to fight their monsters, real and internal, side-by-side.

But to Haley's surprise, knocks at her door and asks for help. Maybe Abigail's what she needed to discover what the competitions theme, 'community' really means, by her own definition.

Finding someone to trust when you're practically groping blindly in the dark is definitely going to be a challenge. But for Sebastian... realizing that he NEEDS someone to trust is the first hurdle to overcome.
Because everyone seems to have secrets... And some are far bigger than others.
