Summary
Life on Golden Oake Acres isn't the kind of life Farmer thought it would be. She'd never expected to even be a farmer, and kind of joked about it at one point with Grandma and Grandpa when they were still alive, but now... Now Farmer is ready for a change. The work is tough, sure, but also has its own rewards, and seeing the community change and thrive is making it all worth it.
What Farmer didn't expect to find in such a close knit, podunk little country town was romance. Even though she's visited Pelican Town as a child and helped (read: played) on Grandpa's farm, she never really made many connections since, after all, she was only there for the summers, and once she turned 13 and Grandpa's health (and farm, as a result) began failing, the visits came to a stop. When she inherited the farm and decided to stop being another cog in Joja's almost too well oiled wheels, she found herself at home...and catching the eyes of a few of the townsfolk, like Sam and Elliott.
The pair of eyes she didn't expect to catch? Sebastian's.

Over the past decade of his friendship with Sam, Sebastian discovered a confusing phenomenon. Most of the time he saw Sam as his lifelong best friend; a person he'd known since before he could remember, nothing more. But every now and again something would happen - the light would hit Sam's face just right, or he'd fall over laughing at one of his own jokes, or bite his lip in concentration while zeroing in on a video game.
