|| The very first memory she had was floating. There wasn’t much left from that memory but she remembered being small. She was so small and her fingers didn’t work quite right and when she reached out in front of her, she rested her palms on glass. She was moving through some sort of liquid.
Underwater. She was underwater. But she didn’t know how to swim. She was going to drown.
She learned panic that day. ||
And
|| She remembered the plane crash. It felt a little something like the earthquake that had trapped her inside.
She was crushed under the weight of rubble and her own grief. The image of Pomme reaching out for them desperately and never being able to reach them was holding her down.
Baghera wished for death. So wholly and completely. She wished to die, drowning in her grief and the pain tearing her apart into thousands of pieces. ||
A very long, very Baghera-centric fic. Aka, I was writing post-Purgatory 1 angst for Baghera and Cellbit and it spiraled out of control.

Growing up in their village, along with their 14 siblings wasn’t easy for the two 13-year-olds Bagi and Cellbit, nor was it normal. Their father’s tale of white killer bears outside the woods and all of the parents' obsession with training their kids to be fighters were one thing.
But everything changed when Cellbit got kidnapped by a crowd of hooded monsters with bear masks and taken to compete in a deadly tournament outside the barbed wire fence. His competition: their siblings, most.
All the while, Bagi with the help of their weakest brother, begins following Cellbits trail, unbeknownst that someone is chasing theirs until it’s too late.
Can Cellbit unite his brothers to escape or will one of them earn the prize of a killer? Will Bagi and Weak uncover the real purpose of their isolated village on Quesadilla Island or will they be swallowed alive by the secrets that haunt it from the sparrows in the sky to the tunnels under the earth?

After a talk with Roier that brings the baby out, Baghera finds herself spiraling out of control. Although, someone did say she could come over at any time and now, she might just take him up on it.

The cell the Federation had stuck him in was too quiet.
With so much time to think he couldn't help but agonize over why he was here- but he'd also thought, maybe a bit foolishly, that he wouldn't have to worry about the Ender King anymore. Phil couldn't hear his voice, couldn't feel his presence in his own mind, wasn't- seeing things. It was one of the things he was especially grateful for, trumped by the fact he wouldn't be forced to hurt his own kids anymore, but fuck.
Chayanne at the very least hadn't seemed to be visibly injured when Philza had last seen him, which was a fact that he clung to until the Federation's tests had begun.
i.e. The Federation seem to have a vested interest in not letting the Ender King leave Phil the fuck alone. He just wished his husband had been left out of the crossfire.

I am an Early Childhood Education major who works with toddlers. We take psychology classes to learn what NOT to do. I said “Okay, but what if the Federation did it anyway?”
(Child sexual abuse is mentioned but not written. The whole story is about Elena trying to figure out what happened with a child who cannot communicate well. I wanted to do more of a character study of Elena and her thought process than anything else, if that helps explain it.)
