Summary
After the events of the Kraang invasion, those infected by the Kraang are no longer mindless drones, but still have the grotesque mutation of the Kraang’s tentacles crawling around their bodies. Agent John Bishop, head of the Earth Protection Force special ops division of the government, has taken sister Kraang into custody for study. His top scientists work to find a cure for the infection without hurting the people affected.
They succeed, but accidentally create a fatal illness to any being that has been in contact with empyrean (aka most mutants and yōkai) as the “cure” directly attacks all cells resembling Kraang tissue, and empyrean is basically Kraang blood.

Hamato Leonardo and Usagi yuichi never would have known each other if it hadn't been the worst timing of the whole "are two alien things that traumatized used teamed up and got stronger together" ordeal but it's just hopeful thinking that they can finally actually defeat them with there teams combined and if they do then maybe just maybe after this whole thing is over they can be happy together

Summary
These are two oneshots that vary in content but are based on the same concept. Prior to these stories, Y/N developed a strong, committed romantic relationship with Leonardo. Then, you were slain in battle. In both oneshots, Leo is in the dojo, attempting to meditate away the grief, when he gets an unexpected visitor. These should work with any iteration of the turtles, although they were written with 2012 Leo in mind. Splinter is not alive in these scenarios, and gender doesn't matter for the reader.

Summary
Donnie's voice brought him back down to Earth, reminding him that his home was still here - not out there in the unfeeling expanse of space. Even if he sometimes wished it was.
"Why wouldn't there be a point? We'd have nothing to live for," he spoke quietly, but firmly enough to make Leo glance at him out of the corner of his eye. His mask was tattered at the edges, ripped and worn from countless fights. The frayed threads gently swayed in the breeze. Leo thought it looked nice in the moonlight - a bittersweet reminder of their past bathed in soft whites.
