Summary
David has always hated the cold. He hates the way it bites into his skin, turning his face red and his fingers numb. He hates the dread that comes with it, the cloudy skies filled with the promise of snow that has not yet been fulfilled. He hates the ice that covers the road, making the sidewalk slick and dangerous.
So being thrown out into that cold with nothing but a coat and a few dollars in his pocket is an absolute nightmare....
Or, David gets kicked out and goes to a bar to spend the night. You'll never guess who's bartending.

Summary
Jack is happy. He has everything he ever wanted. He swears to god that he's happy with his career and his fiancé and everything in his life that turned out perfect.
David wanted a certain set of things in college, but he has none of them. In college, he was poised to jump into a successful scientific career, he had a long-time boyfriend whom he loved dearly, and he had some semblance of order. Now, he has absolutely none of that, but he's happy with his life of planning weddings and loving his friends and living alone with his cats.
And of course, David hopes that Jack sees how great he's doing and feels bad for how they ended. And of course, Jack feels bad. But they're never going to see each other again, so it won't be a problem.
Until David is hired to plan Jack's wedding. Then things get... messy.-

Summary
The important part is the fact that they had made a promise, swore to each other, a damn oath, not to lie nor hide things from each other. The two of them were supposed to tell each other everything. And sure, Sarah may have kept a few secrets from Davey over the years such as who stole her last piece of chocolate or the real names of her crushes. However, Sarah had never acted so blatantly secretive as Davey had been doing for the past couple months. So obviously hiding something.
