He is eventually found and his family is shocked because they didn't hadn't contacted him for a very long time so they felt a little guilty that they didn't know that he was suffering.

"Yes, I assume you've heard of him," Evelyn says. "Jack? Jack Bright?" She asks him, and he nods.
"Yes, yes of course I know Dr. Bright," Arin replies. "Everyone knows Dr. Bright."
"Do you know him or have you just heard of him?" She asks him.
"We're friends, I think," Arin says. "We eat lunch together and talk sometimes," He explains. "And I'm buddies with a lot of his buddies. And, we drink together sometimes. So I know him," Arin says, nodding as he finishes up.
"That's good," She smiles, "That makes this much easier! For the both of you, I mean. And me a little too, I guess."
"Makes what easier?" Arin asks, "Not to step out of line, ma'am, but what is going on here?" He pauses, "I mean Evelyn."
"I would like you to go on vacation, along with my son," She smiles. "I was hoping he would make more immortal friends, so I have been looking into anyone registered under "Immortal" or "Probably Immortal", which you are," She explains. "It's for his birthday."
"Okay, yeah," Arin says. "Of course, I'll go on vacation with your son for his birthday," he nods. "Who else is going with us?"
"A single D-class member!"
"FUCK!"
