The guilt almost overpowers the Brit until he reminds himself that this is pretend. He knows Sapnap wants this, Sapnap knows what’s about to happen, they’re just doing a scene. Besides, if the guilt truly does become too much, he can always call red.

"Did I- ever mean anything to you?" George's voice cracked slightly, his voice becoming a whisper but it was coherent enough for Dream to hear. The Floridian released a small breath and looked down at his desk.
"Not in the slightest." It hurt to say that. He wanted to apologise and cry and just cuddle the brunette but he couldn't.
"Then I quit." George looked into Dreams eyes as he said that. There was clear signs of betrayal and hurt. Oh how much Dream just wanted to hug him and tell him everything would be fine. Dream wanted to stop George from leaving but he couldn't. He watched as the shorter opened the, larger than necessary, wooden door and walked out of the pristine office.
Dream's whole world was crumbling around him right then and there. He didn't know what George would do when he got home.
He didn't expect the love of his life to disappear from his world so quickly.
