Summary

He got distracted. Not for long, but still distracted.
His right foot came down on what seemed to be flat ground — it wasn't. A subtle dip in the pavement, one loose stone lower than the rest. Looking at the watch, pondering about his return, he noticed nothing.
His ankle rolled to the side, twisting hard. The pain was instant, radiating up through his shin. Jann's knee immediately buckled under his weight, the boy going down like a sack of very fast potatoes. -

He was mentally in Nürburgring again, fear and shock controlling him completely. It was the same feeling, the same moment before an absolute disater. A disaster he couldn't avoid no matter how hard he tried to stay on the track, no matter how hard he tried to gain control over the car again, no matter how hard he tried to stop the machine.

"I need to think this through," he mumbled, trying his best to ignore all the people silently watching him, possibly expecting him to throw a straightforward answer their way and just be done for the day as if it was a matter of choosing what you want for breakfast.
"You don't need the answer right now, do you?" Jann directed his question — maybe a bit more unpleasantly than inteded, though with his emotions running high understandably so — at Shaun who looked rather unimpressed by Jann's statement and even less impressed by the boy's audacity. The one person Jann definitely wouldn't miss if he made the decision to switch teams would be Shaun. He was actually tempted.

Based on the look on Jack's face when he openned the door, he was about to give the boy a piece of his mind and ask him why was he acting so damn weird. Right after his ocean blue eyes found the boy though, his face changed into something completely horror-struck, his whole body immediately going unusually stiff.
