Commander Saki Shepard and her crew aboard the Normandy are drawn into a suspicious murder case on the Citadel, the space station considered the capital of the Milky Way. Rubya D'Vayne, an Asari who worked as Sha'ira's assistant, was found dead with a gunshot wound to the forehead, sitting beneath the relay monument.
The main suspects? Two of her crew members, who were found at the crime scene: Tali'Zorah and the rookie Gael Armagon. Shepard believes they are innocent, even though all of C-Sec is convinced of their guilt; however, the deeper Shepard delves into the case, the more she senses that something else is going on.Series

Twenty years after the Reaper War has ended, life returns to a somewhat normal state. While the many species of the Milky Way have not yet fully recovered from the Reaper War, they are on the mend. Commander Shepard, legendary Spectre and hero of the Galaxy, still continues his military career after choosing to destroy the Reapers and somehow, in the process, managing to keep Synthetic life such as the Geth and EDI alive. But he is no longer the only Shepard in the Galaxy as he and Ashley Williams have a child.
Aurelia Shepard, daughter of Commander Shepard, has a big legacy to fulfill and a lot of eyes are on her and she knows it. Despite that fact, Aurelia doubts that any threat will be as great as what the Reapers had been. Unfortunately for her, the universe itself loves proving people who believe that wrong and she finds herself in the midst of what could be another war. For, without the Reapers to provide a threat to them, the Leviathan are starting to make their move but first, Aurelia needs to help deal with the remnants of Cerberus who are proving still to be royal pains in the rear.

Summary
When the Battlestar Galactica makes their desperate jump towards Earth, lead by Kara Thrace and four of the Final Five Cylons, they don't find the Earth they expect. They find an Earth encircled by giant black ships and a woman calling herself Commander Shepard telling them to leave before the Reapers attack them. With Earth not the safe haven they'd hoped for, a multi-species conflict raging around them, and the enemy Cylons still a threat, the Colonial Fleet and their Cylon allies struggle to make a place for themselves in this new universe.

Tali ran for the door but found it sealed, and unresponsive to her attempts at hacking. She turned to look behind her, and to her horror saw the brass figures emerging from the walls, animated and gazing at her with baleful red eyes. The circular mechanisms on the walls were gates.
And one of them looked like the way out. She ran for it.
