Summary
Kel has always felt some sort of inexplicable pull towards the vast, unknowable depths that lie beyond his town’s tranquil lagoon; bound by tradition and the constraints of long-taught turmoil, he was never able to explore these desires. His eyes were pleading even without the light of the sunset to emphasize his distress. It was as if everything fell silent, all cues of the outdoors gone quiet all at once. The crickets had hushed. The wind was gone. Even the swashing of the bay, the sway of the grass, the calls and squacks of the gulls– absent.

Summary
Sunny didn't think his friends would take the truth all that well. Though, it did go better than expected...everyone's going to need space. Which is fine, of course! Sunny knows its better they know the truth, whether the friend group ends up staying together or not. Sunny assumes that all of the huge life-altering events for their old friend group are going to be done for now.
Sunny thought wrong, and he finds that out quickly when a speeding semi-truck hits Kel right outside the hospital!
Sunny should've known bad things wouldn't magically stop happening, probably. Still, he tries to settle into his new life in his new apartment in Closeby City, and he does do an okay job at that. He...he does an okay job at that until he wakes up one morning to see the ghost of Kel standing in his bedroom a week after his death. Kel quickly comes to the conclusion that he's there because he unfinished business: getting the friend group back together.

HEY! YOU THERE! HEY! WARNING! THIS FIC IS CURRENTLY UNDERGOING SOME ADJUSTMENTS FOR THE FIRST 6 CHAPTERS! IF YOU READ IT RIGHT NOW, SOMETHINGS MIGHT NOT MAKE SENSE!
A post good (best) ending fic, with a focus on Sunburn.
After the incident at the hospital, relationships are strained, but not completely broken. As Sunny recuperates and gets used to the new conditions of his friendships, he starts to notice that Aubrey may not have changed as much as he thought at first. Each time he notices something that reminds him of Aubrey's old self, he realizes more and more that his feelings have stayed the same.
At the same time, Aubrey begins to question feelings for Sunny she never knew she even had, amplified by actions of Basil.
Oh yeah. And Sunburn ensues. Of course.
This story has a long way to go, and there's hopefully a little bit for everyone, a lot more than just Sunburn will happen along the way, and who knows what may happen even after the confession? I mean- I know, but that doesn't mean YOU do.

Summary
After almost a year of isolation, Sunny is visited by the spirit of Mari, who consoles her hurt little brother, and asks him to try and bring the gang back together, so that they can finally heal. With some words of encouragement, and a little blessing from Mari. Sunny tries his best to do what Mari wants him to, what she would have done if their places were swapped.
Also, since it’s only been a year, Headspace isn’t fully formed/realized yet, it’s still there, same with his delusions, they’re there, but only vaguely, aside from Something. Omori doesn’t fully exist yet. Aubrey still joins the hooligans, dyes her hair pink, and carries a spiked bat. Hero is still locked away in his room. Kel is kel.

That’s why Aubrey’s betrayal had been so painful. If they were all just scared and confused, why had she called Kel names? Why had she turned against them? Why had she begun to bully Basil?
Kel hadn’t understood.
But as Basil’s pitiful cries rang in his ears, as his hands recalled the way Basil’s had trembled, as his mind dusted off the hazy image of Basil’s rivers and rivers and tears -- he may have begun to understand Aubrey’s actions just a little bit better.
