Goggles has been missing for a week. It was as sudden as could be, and he had left not a single trace behind. Despite the Splatoon's best efforts, they haven't been able to even get an idea as to where he is.
Until that Splatoween, when Hachi discovers something new under the Spire of Order. A painful reminder of not only his past, but also the revealing of a scheme that could be used to destroy Goggles completely, making him a perfect blank slate for Order to control.

A vibration came from Goggles’ phone as he ate the rest of his cold meal, but he ignored it in favor of his old “friend.” “We’re in our 20s, but you’re still a damn brat,” Hivemind looked at the blue inkling’s food, “go ahead. Laugh at me like the rest.” The blue inkling was silent instead. He finished it up and then stood up to throw away the wrapper and the tray. “I’m sorry.” Goggles sat back down and picked up a drink from out the dirt. “I’m sorry I didn’t ask for your number so I could check in on you! You were really cool out there in that second final splatfest! And with the shadows! I really wanted to get to know you but never had the chance! You helped me so so much!”
The praise surprised the sad inkling. Goggles took out his phone, then swiped the few minutes old notification away. “Can I have your number Hive?”
