Just looking back on what had happened was difficult; it felt like a decade’s worth of events condensed into a hundred hours or so. How hard was looking forward going to be?

Some fuckass alien came down to Earth, and you know, fucking obliterated Mark at the last minute of the fight—because apparently this alien could isolate your senses into oblivion. So, here he was. Stuck in a bullshit situation.

And when he was standing under the shower, he’d unconsciously start clawing at the spots where Omni-Man had hit him the most. Sometimes Mark imagined he could see blood on himself. Sometimes he’d start gasping for air, lost in his thoughts, remembering his dad all over again. Sometimes he just didn’t want to wake up.
