Sherlock wakes up in a hospital bed, Mycroft by his side. When the older Holmes brother realises that Sherlock recalls a limited amount of the last year's events, he is more than a little concerned. What shocks Mycroft beyond belief, though, is the fact that Sherlock has no memory of a certain flatmate and friend.

Summary
John takes Sherlock's death so hard that he reaches the point of suicide attempts. As he tries to move on with his life, he hallucinates the presence of his best friend and eventually just accepts that the face and voice of his friend will haunt him for the rest of his life.
When Sherlock comes back from his two year absence expecting things to just... work out, he gets quite the surprise when John proposes to Mary. Nothing could have prepared Sherlock for the emotional storms he would have to fight through, especially not being afraid of his own best friend when trying to gain back the son that was taken from him.

And today is no different, when Lestrade calls to let them know that a new, curious case of a young woman with funny spots all over her body has popped up, requesting their expertise on the case. Was it the grieving sister? The snake obsessed fiance? Or perhaps it was the doting step-father? Either way, Sherlock, Amelia, and John will find out the truth...even if Amelia might just come close to strangling Sherlock to do so.

Sherlock gave her a slight frown, almost looking very slightly sulky, “Astonishingly well..."
Amelia Wilson just wanted a relaxed evening home to watch rubbish reality TV...unfortunately, her neighbor and colleague, Sherlock Holmes, had other ideas when he insists, (Oddly uncharacteristically), on her joining him out on an evening to the theater. Taking pity on him, she figures, "Why not?" After all, who'd ever think that she'd end up living out her own episode of Midsummer Murders when an apparent murder occurs right on stage before their very eyes.
