Silence fell as Dean drank his slowly warming beer, and Cas remained with his head pressed to the table until Castiel lifted his head and frowned faintly. “Dean,” he said slowly. “What is today’s date?”
Dean, mid-sip of the slightly lukewarm beer, blinked. “Uh. Thursday?”
Castiel stared at him expectingly.
Dean sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. He hardly knew what day of the week it was, let alone the actual date. “Okay, the... second? Yeah, I think it's the second of May.” He guessed, then cross-referenced it with his phone. "Yeah, the second of May.
Castiel’s eyes widened comically, blue eyes large and bulging. “Dean.”
Dean frowned. “Cas?”
“It’s the second of May.”
“Yeah... I just said that.” Dean responded slowly like Cas had lost his mind.
Castiel leaned in, voice low with urgency. “It’s Sam’s birthday.”
"Son of a bitch!"
Or.
Cas and Dean realise they forgot Sam's birthday and have to scramble to make up for it. Don't worry, it's not as bad as it seems.
