“I don’t understand,” he says, and his arms are wrapped around himself now, as if he is cold. They are in Hebra, yes, but he can’t help but feel as if the cold has nothing to do with how he is beginning to shiver.
“What do you mean you don’t understand?” Revali demands, turning back to him, his glare even deeper on his face than before. “I’ve expressed myself clearly to you many times before - it is no fault of mine that you see yourself as better than I simply because of the sword on your back. Surely you cannot blame me for cutting my losses here - I’ve wasted enough time on you as it is.”
“I-I don’t understand,” Link repeats, because for once, he truly doesn’t know how it was that he didn’t please this individual. He thought he understood, before, but Revali has grown more and more upset, and Link simply does not understand what he has done wrong to cause this.
He wants to fix this.
It is the first time in his life he can ever truly remember wanting something.
It is as his vision begins to blur (he doesn't know why) that Revali’s expression shifts.

He still tried to will his mind to push himself up, to get away from the Gerudo man towering over him, but his mind and body refused to cooperate.
Link's body was battered, hand crushed and the Master Sword was hidden in the long grass of Hyrule Field. There were cuts where his chain mail didn't protect the skin, red oozing from them and staining his undershirt. The battle persisted for nearly twelve long hours. Link was slashed, stabbed, and beaten during this time. He's hurt, and he's tired, and he just wants to go home. Can he let this one go? Can he let it be someone else's problem?
But Princess Zelda was long gone, she rode off on Epona a long while ago. He had watched her figure disappear through the yellow walls, headed back to the castle.
Despite all this, he grit his teeth, meeting Ganondorf's piercing gaze once again with defiance in his eyes. He managed a hoarse, defiant reply.
"I'd do... anything."
"... Let us see how far 'anything' goes."

He stands there as the water drops back to the ground and absorbs into it. Link stares at the divet in the ground that the tear had filled only moments before. Suddenly a loud bellow filled the Rist Peninsula. He looked up at the source, only to see the once mysterious Light Dragon.
Link stood unmoving. He stared in awe of her beauty, much like he did each time he got to see her flying overhead. The only differences now were the tears falling down his face and knowing the beautiful dragon was her.
We don't get to see a whole lot of emotion from Link in-game so i fixed that. Begins just after viewing the last dragon tear. Goes way past that moment because I don't know how to stop a story and will just keep writing.

People always talked about her, about all the good she had done, how they missed her and impatiently awaited the day she would return. Link wholeheartedly agreed with all of it.

There are many parts and some locations that I have made up and are not canon. I have decided to not put in the Champions from the future, and I have altered details about some of the characters. After the events of Age of Calamity end,(after defeating Ganon)the events are purely original and are not part of the Legend of Zelda storyline.
This is a very long story and may be boring in some parts, but it does get more exciting

A shrine door groaned open on an isolated plateau, atop a cliff towering over the rest of the plain - already hundreds of feet above the surrounding land. Sunlight trickled through the leaves into the darkened cave, illuminating the dark stone that hadn’t seen the light of day in 100 years. Out of the shadows stepped a figure, shielding his eyes from the sunlight with his hand as he stepped slowly at first, then quicker, rushing to the edge of the cliff and overlooking the vast world that surrounded him.
Thus began the story of a hero.-----Or-----
Link awoke in a world that was unfamiliar to him, and now it was up to him to figure out what exactly was going on, how the world worked, and how he was going to save it.

Link is used to being the strong one. His job is to be there for others, and he'd do anything for his friends, especially Zelda. It's his purpose in life, and it makes him feel fulfilled. As for his own needs, he's self-sufficient and likes it that way - he can't fathom anything different. But when the Demon King's attack beneath Hyrule Castle robs him of his strength and vitality, Link finds himself in the unbearable position of not only having to grapple with sudden and profound weakness, but also having to rely on others when it comes to his own wellbeing. It might surprise him to learn that his freinds are more than willing, able, and even happy to give him the support he needs as he works to get well and regain his strength during the course of his journey to find Zelda and save Hyrule a second time.
As of Jan 2025: NOT ABANDONED! Author is dealing with some pretty significant health issues atm. I want you lovely readers to know that I’m hoping to return to this fic soon and think about it daily!
