Summary
This is sort of a gap-filler that covers episodes 1.09 through the Gallavich parts of the end of Season 1 (with brief mentions of events in previous episodes). It's born out of my desire to know how the boys reach the level of closeness that has Ian running to Mickey's when M*nica shows up. I also think the writers missed some terrific opportunities for character development between Ian, Mickey, and Kash between the shooting and the prison visit.

Summary
A series of unconnected fics where Buck from 9-1-1 is a Gallagher. Usually, he is the second oldest, only slightly younger than Fiona. I typically like to think of them as Irish Twins, meaning there is less than a 1-year difference between them.
Some of these fics are placed in Chicago as though 9-1-1 occurs there (but with no other changes other than Buck being a Gallagher,) In others Buck moved to LA and the rest of the Gallaghers are still in Chicago.
A lot of these don't include Maddie, but Bring Your Kid to Work Day does. For the rest of the fics I haven't gotten the inspiration I need to write her in, in a way that fits the story, but trust me I love her! And if you want feel free to pretend she exists and just isn't mentioned, or if applicable, it's before she's mentioned in 9-1-1 and is currently estranged from Buck because of Doug.- Words:

With shaking hands Ian picks up the remote, clicks ON and watches the screen slowly blink to life. He clicks to the first news station he can think of and within seconds his eyes are transfixed on a reporter standing in front of an overturned fire truck. "Ladder Truck" Buck's voice in his mind reminds him. 118. The numbers stare back at him. 118.
Buck. No, it can't. No. He's frozen to the spot. The camera angle changes to an aerial view. The reporter's voice echoes in his head but he takes nothing in all he can see is the tiny figure lying trapped partway underneath the ladder truck.
Blood is rushing in his head. No, it can't be Buck. Not his brother. Without conscious choice, he's moving closer to the TV staring at the person. Lying there. Unmoving.
“The explosion occurred 30 minutes ago, though ask anyone here and it feels like a lifetime, no word yet on the condition of the firefighter. Every- Wait!”

Mickey's lawyer thinks it'd be a good idea for him to shave his beard. Make him look more like a 'kid' for his parole hearing, supposedly stop the Judge from sentencing him to the stratosphere. Mickey thinks it's fucking stupid, because he's not some punk kid, and it's not like him being a minor has ever stopped the Judge before from declaring him some sort of menace to society.
Even if Mickey wanted to shave it, he couldn't. His hands are still fucked up from the damn fight that got him in violation of his parole in the first place.
He's bitching about it all to Ian while working at the Kash and Grab when Ian offers to shave it for him. And if Mickey wasn't such a goddamn idiot, he would have never agreed to let him.
