"Don’t worry your pretty little head about that. You see," Hereward rumbles, and only now Goro notices he has something lying in front of his feet, too—a pair of uncannily familiar glasses.
Goro immediately surges forward, just barely able to prevent Robin from falling out of his lap. "You didn't."
"We did," Loki and Hereward both chirp at the same time, and Goro spends a few solid seconds just looking between them and the items they brought.
Items that clearly belong to Akira.
or: Goro would certainly be lost in life if not for Robin, Loki and Hereward—or so they say, at least.

Summary
Two years have passed since the Phantom Thieves disbanded and went their separate ways. After all, they were not needed anymore. Akira is finally on his way back to Tokyo in the hopes of seeing his old comrades again and reforging his old connections. Everyone else had moved on with their lives but Akira needed to get back with his friends again. However, old enemies lie in wait in Tokyo and he may be forced to act.
Gushiken Hoshiko rides the train for her first day back at Shujin Academy. After the day Tokyo was transformed and the skies rained red, her family called her crazy. No one else seemed to remember what happened, the way the Phantom Thieves defeated a god and saved everyone. She was sent away for her delusions, but after spending the past two years living with her grandparents out in the countryside, she was finally able to come back. As she road the train, a sinister voice resonated in the back of her head calling her to a strange place.

Goro can tell at a glance that the one standing on the right is not his Joker. He’s different, despite the fact that he’s nearly visibly identical to the real thing with his familiar phantom thief outfit—minus the mask. But his expression is bordering on exasperated, not an ounce of shock on his face as he looks at Loki with eyes that are a dazzling gold.
In contrast, the Joker standing beside him has Goro feeling like he’s on the verge of being pulled into the dark abyss, a sweet surrender even if he drowns. He’s dressed in his school uniform, as he had been the very last time Goro had seen him, and his eyes are only for Goro, a mix of terror and relief waring in his beautiful grey gaze.
“Akira,” Goro croaks.
Or; Goro enters his own palace, and with the help of Akira, Arsene, Robin Hood, and Loki...he discovers that there's more than one way to love himself.
