Kotone Shiomi has been alone for a very long time.
The death of her mother, her separation from her brother, and the lonely years spent shuffled to and fro through the foster system haven’t been kind to her. Cap it all off with an assault charge on her record for trying to protect an innocent woman, and Kotone’s life could never be called easy.
Still, being transferred to a new school in Tokyo was a fresh start. A new beginning. All she had to do was keep her head down, and hope for a quiet year without much fuss. Hopefully one that wouldn’t involve strange Palaces looming in the dark, the ghost of a pirate woman dwelling in her soul, and a group of mysterious Moonlit Thieves rifting through the spaces between.
Because that would be crazy, right?

Investigating makes everything dramatically worse.

This is the Japan side of Act 17, following Akira Kurusu's perspective. And what a perspective it is! Akira and his friends just witnessed the Midnight Channel, and what they saw was terrifying: Mishima's own Shadow plans to kill Mishima in twenty-four hours!
Do or die, it's time for the Phantom Thieves to act. With the help of some Inaba locals, the group will have to sniff out the location where Mishima is being held within the TV World in order to stage a daring rescue. They know that they will have to infiltrate a cognitive space belonging to Mishima's Shadow. What they don't know, however, is what's in store for them within that mindscape.
Though it may not quite qualify as a Palace, it will still be a reflection of the subconscious of the admin of the Phan-Site. Just how does Mishima view his situation in the world? And more importantly, will he be able to accept his other self?

Ren follows her half a second later, burning with curiosity about everything these Phantom Thieves are accomplishing. ]
Nagisa arrives back home with a sense of dread curling low in his gut, only to be overwhelmed by the scent of curry in the air. He unlocks the door, a reflexive I'm home leaving his lips even though he's been alone for a while now, a ghost in his own four walls before Lufel had found him, before he's gained Janosik's comfort.
"Welcome back!" Joker's voice carries over from the kitchen, and Nagisa stares for a moment before steeling himself and stepping into his own living room, witnessing the absurd picture that is Joker's glasses being fogged up from where he's staring at a simmering pot.
