There were bright red poppies in a glass vase, delicate daisies and corn flowers in a white vase with rainbow dots. Bluebells, lilies of the valley and lavender were put inside an old teapot, instead, and Miss Honey loved it: things were more exciting when you put flowers in things other than vases for flowers.
Jennifer loved waking up in the morning, when the house was incredibly quiet and the scent of the honeysuckle in the garden was filling the air, to walk around and breathe everything in afraid it might end abruptly.-Summer ends with the last days of sun and blackberry pies, and autumn begins bringing rainy days and softness.
