Summary
What if Rio was a child at the same time as Agatha, while also being Lady Death? This is a journey of how Agatha and Rio,. both with bad childhoods, find comfort in each other. Follow their journey from Salem in the 1600's through the ages until the 1900's as they fall in love, learn about their powers, and figure out how to choose happiness with each other and start a family.
“Why aren't you afraid of me?” Agatha's voice broke the silence, a sharp edge to it.
Rio paused, her brow furrowing as she searched for the right words. “I know what it's like, you know…being the one everyone avoids.” She lowered her voice. “I don't have to hear their words. I can feel it. I can sense when death has been near, when the air feels heavier, like something is about to happen.” She shrugged, a self- deprecating smile on her lips. “I guess it's something I've always carried. People think I bring it with me. But I'm just different, and they don't like that.”
Agatha stared at Rio, the words sinking in. She had always felt alone, always felt that no one could understand her. But here, in this moment, Rio wasn't running. She wasn't whispering behind her back or treating her like a monster.-

“Mom..” Nicky whispered.
“You’re..” Agatha stammered, finger pointing as she harshly whispered. “Don’t tell me you-”
“Death junior?” He stepped forward with a little grin. “That’s the nickname mother has for me”
Agatha turned to face him completely. Her look conflicted between distraught and relief at once. Rio barely crossed her mind, too busy taking in the sight of her little boy now grown into a young man. How he wore a version of his mother’s outfit. Wore a smile that still reflected the same one he used to give her. Her son stood as a form of Death. How could she accept this?
“I..the way you passed, Mom. If I could go kill those men myself without breaking the rules..I’d do it” He said. “Not that I’m not happy to have you here. I’ve missed you dearly, just-”
“Shut up and get over here” Agatha cut him off.

Summary
A Prequel within a Sequel
Present : Rio and Agatha finally have Nicky. Join them as them as they juggle the new struggles of parenthood and the joys of Nicholas' milestones. But what happens when the presence of the real world starts pressing in again? How will they juggle the pressing of family and friends on their privacy and the slow changes they face as their relationship evolves.
Past : Agatha finally escapes the clutches of her mother, running away to Harvard with her best friend, and only set on graduating to get as far as possible from the past that haunts her. But fate has other plans, landing Rio Vidal, a plant biology student and volunteer firefighter in her orbit. Rio infuriates her with her bold stance, the confidence that radiates around her, and a level of control that Agatha can't seem to obtain amidst her chaos. As their planets collide, a spark grows from their destruction... one that Agatha's heart can't ignore.

Summary
A decade ago, Agatha Harkness and Rio Vidal escaped together from a wilderness camp for "troubled teens" and briefly became media celebrities as they spoke out against the Troubled Teen Industry. Over the next few years, their paths diverged.
Meeting again as adults in their late 20s, they find that they still have many things in common, including a dedication to preventing others from going through the trauma they experienced. They also find that the mutual attraction they felt in their teens has not faded, but only lain dormant. All that stands in the way of the building something more from their old relationship is the pressure of societal expectations and their own personal issues regarding the dynamics of their relationship.

“There was a collision on the highway, due to the stormy weather conditions.” The doctor explained, her voice careful. “Your son and his mother, Rio, were involved. Your son is stable, but shaken. Ms. Vidal sustained critical injuries and is in surgery. You should come as soon as possible.”
Her breath hitched. Her pulse roared in her ears. Her hands shook.
“No.” She whispered, to herself more than Dr Robbins. It didn’t make sense. It couldn’t be real. It couldn’t be happening again.
But the doctor kept talking, giving her more details, repeating herself when she didn’t respond.
And then-
“Momma!”
She sucked in a hiss of a breath at the sound of Nicky’s voice in the background — high, panicked, crying.
“I need my Momma, please! Is she-”
“I’ll be right there.” She blurted out, barely recognizing her own voice.
OR, Agatha gets a call that her ex-wife, Rio, and son, Nicky, were in a car accident. Except, two years prior, the exact same situation caused the two to divorce.
