Summary
The fandom has agreed that whether Zelda cut it herself, had someone else do it, or had Link do it that the cut came out perfectly and super cute. I like to think that it came out awful at first but Zelda rocked it anyway, and as it grew out she cut it herself month by month, until we get the look we see in Tears of the Kingdom.
With that said, sometimes you need to cut your hair so your kingdom’s hero can trade it to a crazy wizard in the woods to rescue his friend.

"Must be exhausting being so humble." Legend snarks, arms crossed. His smirk only grows wider when Wild flips him off silently.
“You’re just jealous you won’t have a bridge named after you.”
“We have the same name, dumbass.”
A pause and then, "Dang it."
(Or the one where the Chain ends up in an alternative timeline where Wild never died, more than half of his Hyrule survived the Calamity, and, most importantly, won.
