Summary
Newt gestures hotly to the clipboard clutched to her chest. “You’re the hot-shot neurologist here and even you don’t know any more than I do what-what a… goddamned neural load’s gonna’ do to an already compromised nervous system. You don’t know! No one does because it’s not meant to friggin’ happen! “

Summary
Hermann had been wearing his every other Friday sweater on a Thursday, he hadn't slept in twenty-four hours and the whole thing had been weirding him out way too much to focus. He can multi-task – obviously, but asking him to do that after three cups of coffee, a possible sweater vest conspiracy, no sleep and an entire box of chocolate covered donuts is a bit of a stretch...

"You never told me you masturbate thinking about me."
"You never told me you were married!"-----
Post-war many things are difficult for the remaining members of the PPDC. There are lonely fathers, expecting fathers, expecting card-deck-carrying mothers whose husbands start acting strangely, fathers happy to be with their family again, bereft daughters, best friends that might be more or not, black-market dealers whose interest in kaiju is not just about money, scientists whose sole purpose in life is starting to dissolve after the war.

Newt isn't always the aggressive, dominant scientist in the Shatterdome. Behind closed doors, he often turns into quite the blushing virgin.
And he sure as hell loves being tied up. -

Summary
“Dr. Geiszler, may I remind you that we are in the kitchen. A public area.”
“Never would’ve guessed, Herm,” he said before his teeth sank into his pulse, drawing a startled cry.
“Dr. Geiszler!” Hermann protested. “People will see!”
“Kind of the point. Gotta stake my claim and all that.”
Hermann tried to bat him away, but Newt was undeterred, sucking on the spot in a way that threatened to turn Hermann’s knees to jelly.
“What you need, my friend, is a distraction,” Newt said as he pulled back, studying his work.

Summary
Hermann drew back from the kiss only for breath and Newt blinked up at him. “Not that I’m complaining, but what was that for?”
“Shut up and take off your clothes.”
“Huh?”
“Surely a man, such as yourself, who holds six doctorates in various forms of biology knows what I am implying.” He punctuated the statement with a sharp slap to Newt’s thigh that sent the blood straight down from his brain to his cock.
AKA
Newt is convinced he and Hermann are still experiencing side effects from their drift with the Kaiju brain. Hermann believes that having a "feeling" doesn't count as quantifiable data.

Summary
It's manageable for the first few days. Shared emotions, shared thoughts, words spoken in unison. But it's only when they share a nightmare born of memories that it finally occurs to them that maybe this isn't going to go away.
