At the beginning of summer vacation in the early 2000s, Troy's father drives him away from the Lougferd Mountain Resort, where Troy spends all his time on the slopes snowboarding, to Wondrous Horse Ranch, where Troy must help out with various farm chores with a cute boy and a mischievous younger girl. SPOILERS FOR THE ENDING OF S1 OF PRIME DEFENDERS
They weren't supposed to be fighting Overlord. The Prime Defenders weren't supposed to be captured. So William did the only thing he could do: he ran, and made a deal with a devil.
Basically, this is a AU/What If of how I thought the fight with Overlord was going to go, with a few creative liberties and Mallard playing a much bigger roll. Enjoy.

She reached for the cube, her focus dropping for a sharp second allowing the flesh meteor to get one good lash out, grabbing at her leg. She feels it cut deep, the tendril cutting through her knee before she manages to get another grip on the spell. With her focus on the spell again she hesitated opening the cube horizontally and snapping it shut, when the meteor was contained.
She sighs standing in front of the destruction. She sways for a moment, her breathing heavy as she drops to her knees. Her vision blurs for a moment as she stares, the ground coming like a blur as she collapses.
