He takes her wrist in his hand, thumb smearing crimson across her skin. His body trembles softly, mouth watering at the heady scent of her blood filling his nostrils, his inner demon crawling forth from him, desire bleeding into his veins.
“You really think this will work?” he murmurs, his voice dark and unsure.
“It’ll bind our souls to each other,” she explains. “That way you can siphon my powers and vice versa, kinda like a yin and yang type of situation. We’ll balance each other out,” Esther replies. Her breath is quick, her body taut with both fear and longing.
