Summary
Blitz doesn't know why he does it. If someone were to ask him, he'd say it's to prove to Stolas that he's fine, fuck you very much. He sways, leaning against a bright yellow wall. It's so fucking bright and loud in here, and the beelzejuice is making his head swim and his skin tingle in a pleasant way, and right now all he wants is for Stolas to know he's fine. He's not affected by that shit that happened earlier. So he taps on Stolas's picture, hits call, and holds the phone up to his ear.
"Blitz?" Stolas's voice is quiet, a little shaky.
"Heyyyyy, Stolas!" Blitz says, sagging against the wall. "How's your night goin'? Mine's goin' fuckin' great."
"... Are you drunk?"
Blitz grins, eyes shutting. He is sort of distantly aware of the fact that he's slid down the wall and is now sitting on the floor. "Fuck yeah, I am."

Instead of sticking his tongue in anything with a pulse after beating Bee at a drinking contest, Blitz has the amazing idea to call Stolas while so drunk that he can't stand on his own. What could go wrong?
Featuring: Blitz with a 2-second attention span, Blitz being so drunk he forgets to be an asshole, and Stolas kicking Stella out a la The Circus.

This is a purely self-indulgent fluff piece that is a direct continuation of The Mortifying Ordeal of Staying; you should probably read that first for context, but this can be read as post-getting-together fluff as well. I decided to keep this as a separate fic because I really like the ending to TMOS, and I don't want to ruin it by adding another chapter. Also, this fic is entirely fluff, and that one is Not.

Life is different now. It's been months since Stolas' fall from grace, and despite the ache in his heart from losing his daughter, along with adjusting to his new norm living with Blitzø and Loona in the slums of Imp city, the Goetic demon would say he was actually fairing quite well. Even with his still struggling mental health, and the constant guilt eating away at him over Octavia's accusations. He eventually begins to think that maybe falling from grace wasn't such a bad thing after all?
While he and Blitzø work through the ups and downs of navigating both of their past traumas and develop their relationship into something healthy, Loona has reconnected with Octavia to give her support when her mother and uncle obviously won't. And if she's able to help her reconnect with Stolas along the way? Well that's all part of the plan.
Life moves on, family reconnects, relationships start to mend, and things are maybe, actually, really gonna be ok.

Summary
The first time Stolas hears it is—well, it's not actually the first time, as it were, but it feels almost like it, what with the raw, phoenix through a flame state of his body and mind. It's the first time since his hospitalization, certainly, between all the stress and the tests and Blitz slipping off into the bathroom to have a panic attack where he can't see, and it's quite the nice surprise, after all the other, much nastier surprises he's been subjected to lately.
All this blathering is to say, it nearly makes him jump, the first time he finds Blitz purring in his lap, just loud enough to startle.

There isn't much Blitz can do, when faced with Stolas' suffering. But he can, at least, do this.

“Puppy or kitten?" Stolas asked, more than a question of semantics, and it pulled Blitzø out of his head.
They did puppy play every now and again, when one of them was looking to be ordered about and rewarded for his efforts. But kitten play was for Blitzø. It was a freedom from thinking, being allowed to wholly give in to some of his base instincts and receiving nothing but adoration and affection in return. It was exactly what he needed.
"Kitten," Blitzø answered, and it was the easiest decision he’d made all day.

"Good morning, my love." Stolas stroke gently at Blitz chin, remembering to scratch right under his ear. Looking affectionately at the smaller imp. Blitz, still unaware of the blanket corner in his mouth, made way up to Stolas chin. Planting his face snug in between Stolas chin and shoulder. A small content meow was all he could muster.
Nuzzling Stolas' chin, his purring was now almost like a motor boat. A low, very high volume rumble emanating from his chest. Stolas chuckled, the sound vibrating through his chest. "You're in a playful mood today, aren't you?" he teased, expecting Blitz to respond with some witty retort. But instead of the usual snarky comeback, all he heard was another soft meow, this time mixed with a hint of confusion.
