The latest case file to land on his desk is different. Chicago PD has him investigating a double homicide, committed by black magic with malice aforethought. It takes a wizard to catch a wizard, or so the thinking goes, and Harry Dresden is the only wizard they have on speed dial. Of course he’d be happy to look into it! How hard can it be?

Set after Storm Front, Harry Dresden is approached by a friend of his old mentor, P.I. Nicholas Christian of Ragged Angel, with a case about a missing kid. He solves it. Repercussions follow, starting with earning the tenuous respect of mobster Gentleman Johnny Marcone's right-hand man, Nathan 'Cujo' Hendricks, and the time-honoured reward for good work of yet more labour.
Detectives Murphy and Carmichael will have their work cut out for them.
Mister, taking my voice as the signal to attack, pounced. Hendricks got my cheap coffee over his cheap suit, saying a few swears and an offended, “That is not a cat.” Mister zoomed over to me, hitting my ankles.
“Good cat,” I said, giving Mister some well-earned scritches. To Hendricks I added, “This is Mister. My cat.” I dropped Mister off of me before he started clawing, still not being an idiot.
Hendricks didn’t bumble at the spill on his suit like some oaf, but he was looking askew at recent developments. “Course he is.”

Inspired by this Reddit post where it's pointed out that Jim Butcher looks kind of like Lin-Manuel Miranda and the comment I left after hashing out about the first half of this song for a crazed few hours in the middle of the night, I decided to do a parody of a different Hamilton song for each book in the series, despite never having written fanfic and having no actual musical talent.
