Royal/Soulmate AU
He’s about to turn around when he feels something cold against his back. Kel freezes when a small voice speaks, “Turn around,” Though quiet, there’s something dangerous about it that makes him obey. A black cloaked figure shifts now what he can make out to be a knife against his neck. He swallows thickly, “Say goodby--” The figure looks up at him and they lock eyes.
Instantly the shades of sunlight turned orange and gold from their muted grays, blinding Kel with a splitting headache. He stumbles backwards, as does his assailant who drops his knife with a clatter, “What the--” He’s confused by what he’s seeing. The sky… it was on fire. And the man in front of him. No longer was his cloak a dark black, but a brilliant shade of red that he had only read in storybooks. But one thing remained the same: the color of his assailants eyes that stared at him wide.
"Shit--” The man whips around to run but Kel catches him by the wrist.
“Wait!” Kel cries out, “What’s your name?”

Sunny has had a lot of new responsibilities since starting college, managing a job, making sure his friends are okay, being an ideal role model for his neighbor's newest youngest sister Sally, actually succeeding in college, making sure his family doesn't fall apart, not letting others realized he is on the brink of a breakdown every waking moment he thinks of the tragedy that is his life...
Oh, and bringing Sally back home in time for dinner.
The Rodríguezes will tan his sorry hide if he gets back too late.
or TLDR; Sunny talks to Sally while trying to not have a breakdown. (don't worry it's not as bad as it sounds (I hope))
(This is also an AU where Kel died, sorry Kel fans.)

In a moment of weakness, Sunny agrees to play the violin at a recital taking place the following year. However, Sunny must move back to Faraway Town to do it. Sunny has stopped all activity in his new house. He doesn't eat much, take his medication, even leave his room. All of this pushes Sunny's mother to move back to Faraway Town despite the hassle.
After remembering his decision, Sunny begs his mom to reconsider or cancel but she says it is out of her hands. Sunny knows he must overcome. But how? That is left up to him and his old friends to figure out.
Crushed by the thought of having to play the violin again, but comforted by the fact that he is moving back to his friends, Sunny expects a bittersweet ending.
Today though, Sunny decides to actually get out of the house.

Her face lights up as she looks back at Sunny, sitting on the bed, “You got a crush on blondie?” She asks.
“N-no. It’s not like that. I’d just… I’d like to chat with him. He seems nice,” Sunny places an eyepatch on his blind eye.
“‘Course you would. Blondie seems like your type. Now, get up. Your parents are gonna be mad if you’re late.” Aubrey lets out a hand to Sunny, and he grabs it.
