Once she does, she sees you being overly happy and giddy, and it’s not sitting right with her. Eventually, she snaps and confesses and you just giggle and tell her that the person she set you up with had soon told you that they saw you like a sister and nothing more. Sevika’s flabbergasted, you both kiss and have a heated time in the back of her car.

While the Enforcers who patrol Zaun are paid off and have been told to not bother the locals, the few of them who are brave enough venture into the Lanes to lounge around, sometimes while on duty. The most foolhardy of them will mosey into Babette’s brothel for a session.
The workers hate them. But money is money.
Every blue moon some too-green Enforcer will try to press their luck on getting away with mistreating the workers or attempting (sometimes succeeding) to leave without paying. The workers will, of course, complain to Babette about it. The girls, especially, will complain to Sevika.
Most Enforcers know to never get complaints brought up to Sevika, lest they jeopardize the deal Silco has in place with the sheriff.

What Sevika said about not seeing eye to eye with her father is only a small part of the story. Her relationship with her father was… complicated.
He was militant with high expectations. Always drew the most out of her, whether it was in school or out in the streets. Weakness was not an option for him and he let her know that early on.
Silco reminded her a bit of her father in some ways and she held a level of respect towards the man that she didn’t for many people, let alone men in general.

Reader gets recruited to work for Silco. There's angst, grit, bite and orbiting around one another. It's not soft and easy. It's Arcane accurate, at least how I perceive it.
Reader (called Raven in this fic) and Sevika are emotionally constipated useless dykes (fun fact, that's the original title: “Useless Dykes”) and have past clawing at their throats. Yet they're drawn to each other, eventually seeing that the other is worth trust.
