Aoi Tameharu has been bound up in bed in the Baldesion Annex for what seems like an age after returning home from Ultima Thule. She's worn down, injured, but victorious and taking time not only to recover but reflect. On her life and her future, which for so long felt out of reach.
One night, she sneaks out to wander and think, but also to interact with Sharlayan's people like old times and try to help them with their problems. Thancred, her love and betrothed following recent events, sees her occasionally limping with back pain whilst she darts from soul to soul, wondering how he might help encourage her to return to her rest. Eventually, he lands on an idea or two that might guide her hands and weary body to a yet more memorable evening's healing.
