Summary
A strange woman falls from the sky and lands in Midgard one year after Fimbulwinter started. Luckily she was discovered by Huldra Brothers, a pair of dwarves who had previously aided the foreign god of war Kratos and his young son. The pair take her in out of the kindness of their hearts and as Ragnorök slowly draws near romance blooms.

Spoilers for God of War:
The Just? She wasn’t entirely sure why she earned that name, but she had a feeling Tyr had something to do with it. The bastard always made things seem better than they really were. He made her seem, better than she really was. He was the paragon for all people, and for some reason, he chose to be her friend.
It was wondrous when one considered they were friends long before any prophecy that practically declared she would be a brooding mare, die, and…Leave her family to face everything, alone. Yes, she placed markings everywhere, including in the deepest, most barren parts of the realms. It took her years, but she wanted to at least give them something. She commissioned Sindri and Brok for an axe, not only for her own use, but for theirs.
She didn’t even know their faces yet, and Jotenheim’s art left much to be desired at times. She knew the man would be pale as a ghost and her son would be an archer. She told the others not to tell her any more of their appearances. She wanted to know them as her own. She wanted to know them.
…What a horrible wife and mother she was going to be.

Grief had twisted Sindri into something bitter, something that carried a hollow in his heart that Kratos was at once deeply familiar with and never wished another to suffer. It was an ash in Kratos’ mouth, a pain like blades in his chest and the horror of what he had wrought upon his world in his rage, to see one who had once been a friend and one he wished to be a friend still to begin walking a path so similar to that which Kratos had once walked.
But neither could he leave the dwarf. Kratos knew his pain, and he would spare Sindri the worst of what it could do.
Kratos knows grief, better than anyone. Sindri may not heed his wisdom, in the end, but Kratos gives it anyway.

Atreus looks up at that and locks eyes, his pouty lips slightly parted. Why is he even noticing something like that? It feels natural, the quickness the thought came to him. It distantly make him feel sick.

Sindri sounds scratchy to his own ears. But Atreus sounds smooth like velvet. Warm and inviting.
