Summary
At first, Obi-Wan had not been particularly impressed that Anakin had passed on his responsibilities to Obi-Wan in order to spend time with his secret girlfriend. But then, it had to be confessed that his troll instinct had seen this as a good opportunity to have some fun, and he had been right: the Chancellor's face when Obi-Wan showed up at the gourmet restaurant instead of his former Padawan had made his day.
That was his plan from there: candlelit dinner with the most unpleasant man in the Senate and back home before sunset.
Making a detour to said nemesis's bed was not part of the plan.

Redressing and clasping his armor back into its place, Fox grabbed his pistols from where he had set them on his bunk earlier. Doing a quick weapons check as he did every morning, he was met with another surprise to see that his pistols had been discharged and had been set to live rounds. Vaguely in the back of his mind he could remember firing them and a vod’s voice echoing in his head, but that just didn’t seem right. Fox didn’t go anywhere last night, at least not that he could remember. And he always, always kept his blasters on stun rounds. He hardly ever used live rounds. It was too dangerous with how many people he worked around and how densely the streets could be packed. He would never be able to forgive himself if he hit someone he wasn’t supposed to.
Thoroughly confused he switched his blasters back to stun, slipped them in their holsters, grabbed his helmet and headed out for the day. But if he thought things had been weird before, they just continued to get worse.

Summary

Thire stared at him from where he stood learned against the counter, slowly turned to look at the just opened box pack or artificial sugar Fox had left empty, and picked it up to look at the expiration date.
“Fox. This isn't even from this century.” Thire sounded dead.
“Huh,” Fox went, placing his empty mug on the table.
“Fox.” Thire’s eyes were haunted when they made eye contact with Fox. “Why?”
Fox does the smile, which all the shinies had dubbed as his horror smile, and shouldn't be used at any time at all.
Thire's will to lift visibly leaves his body.
Or: either Fox or his sleep deprivation is winning, but the jury's still out on who actually wins.
