Expecting the Scavengers to simply kill them so they can reset and try again. They are surprised when that does not happen.
The Scavengers seem to have something far worse in mind for The Artificer.

Summary
For everyone and everything in this world, there is a pattern. Repeating, on and on. Enot (or inv, Sofanthiel, whatever..) travels to find a lover, the struggles in their sad life weigh them down. At first, they believe it's the best thing ever!.. but they slowly become very upset at this curse that has been preventing them from being able to live with someone without awaking in the new cycle...
Basically, Enot tries to perma die repeatedly, ended up in the datingsim, gets depressed/upset because they can't have the perfect life (it always "resets their progres"), they go to ascend, wakes up again in the datingsim (or in this case, it's the begining of the campaign), and repeats it over and over again until Saint is tired of their bs and "kills" them with their magic ascension powers and the singularity bomb of an egg, which causes an altered reality of Enot's world to appear as they're sucked into the black hole.
I never see Sofanthiel AUs, so why not make one myself?
UHHHM, I forgot about this and will probably be rewriting it as I've found better outcomes than just romance skugcat krilling themself, so I have left this work until I feel the need to write another fic

Quiet Bliss is the second youngest Iterator of his group, built right before a large drop in materials within the local area. As such, some of his structure has... less than optimal functioning.
