Summary
Moomin, es un joven clérigo conocido por su bondad y dedicación, es la esperanza en su pequeña congregación. Sin embargo, tras su sonrisa radiante se oculta un corazón vacío y una fe tambaleante, marcada por un pasado de sufrimiento. Su rutina cambia drásticamente cuando conoce a un hombre de ojos marrones llamado Snufkin, cuya presencia despierta deseos que Moomin creía impropios.
A medida que el forastero se acerca, lo que comienza como una plática inocente se convierte en una peligrosa atracción. Moomin se debate entre su fe y los impulsos que el misterioso joven despierta en él. Sin saberlo, Snufkin no es humano, sino un íncubo antiguo que ha vivido siglos alimentándose de las emociones humanas. Su objetivo inicial es corromper al joven, pero se encuentra fascinado por la bondad y la lucha interna de Moomin.

A ‘What if’ fanfiction in which Joxter finds out Mymble (accidentally?) abandonned Snufkin and goes find him. He wasn't sure what to expect, but it certainly wasn't what he found.

Summary
“You still think I should speak with him.” It sounded like an accusation, but Moomintroll knew Snufkin well enough to know it was a sincere question. His friend was just having an internal battle.
“I do,” Moomintroll said. “What can it hurt?”
“Oh, Moomintroll,” Snufkin said, his voice sad. “Everything.”
“I don’t understand.” There was nothing safer than family. They held you up and made you stronger. Why couldn’t Snufkin see that?
“And it makes me happy that you don’t. It shows just how loved you are.”
“But you’re loved too, Snufkin. Far more than you realise, I should think.”
After a bad injury leaves him bed bound for months, Snufkin struggles with his slow road to recovery, his feelings for Moomintroll, and the feral cat man he's never met who suddenly wants to be his dad.

Her voice stayed in a whisper, hands going to rest on top of the man’s. She let out a sigh and gripped his paw tightly. “He always preferred being alone, and heaven knows he couldn’t get it here.”
“So he left!?” The man hissed out, throwing his arms into the air.
“And he’s seventeen Mymble. Seventeen! Why am I just now finding out about him? I know for a fact this isn’t the first time I’ve seen you in all these years. Why was he never mentioned!?”
In which THe Joxter finds out he has a son, and he discovers how to deal with news as such.

Summary
Snufkin returns to Moominvalley, but some things have changed. Following an accident which took place while he was away, Moomin has become thoughtful and distant. It isn't until Snufkin is about to leave the following year - and is prevented from doing so by a sudden, persistent illness, meaning he must spend winter with Moomin for the first time - that he learns the full story and comes to understand how best to help his friend.
In the meantime, Snufkin realizes his own feelings have begun to change, and must decide whether his fear of losing freedom will prevent him from accepting a place in the hearts of those who care for him most.

It was in this silence, that Snufkin spoke, face still turned away:
“You should come along with me this winter, Moomintroll.”
Snorkmaiden spat out her drink. Sniff almost swallowed a cinnamon stick. Little My barked ‘What?’ and slammed her cup down.
Moomintroll, for his part, could only gawk.
“Huh?” he managed eventually, certain he was about to wake up in bed.
“I think it’s perhaps time,” Snufkin said absently, looking up at the moon.
“Huh?” Moomintroll repeated, his vocabulary failing him entirely.
“Just consider it,” Snufkin continued, just as casually. He set down his cup on the table and hopped down from the veranda. “Tell Mamma thank you for the cider. Good night!”

Snufkin blinks slowly at him. Moomin clarifies, “You told them you were spoken for.”
“Oh, yes. That’s true.”
Heartbreak is a physical thing, as it turns out. Moomin didn’t know that until now, looking at his best friend and great love and feeling like his whole chest is going to come apart.
“Oh,” he says. “I’m happy for you, Snufkin.”

Summary
“You know so much about everything, Snufkin,” Moomin says, feeling a little awed. “It’s no wonder why you leave us every year. There are amazing things waiting for you out there.”
A pause. Snufkin hesitates, which is very unlike him-- he usually says exactly what he’s thinking. Slowly, carefully, he says, “There are amazing things waiting for me here, too. That’s why I always come back.”
Moomin lays there looking at him, and feels very warm. Like someone poured a cup of tea into his heart, on just the right side of burning. It’s absurdly comfortable, and Moomin is absurdly happy.
Snufkin looks back at him with serious eyes, reaching across the tiny space between them to touch Moomin's face with gentle fingers.
“I’ll always come back,” he says, like it’s a promise.

Summary
Yearning desperately for someone isn’t a pleasant feeling, not all the time, but the giddy expectation of seeing them again is sweeter than apricot jam. Moomin is suddenly much closer to understanding part of the reason why Snufkin is so adamant about leaving in the fall.
Most of it has to do with the manner of creature he is, the wanderlust in his heart and the hungry curiosity that drives him from place to place, but perhaps some of it has to do with how nice it is to miss someone you love and be missed by them when you’re away.
"Oh," Moomin says, very still. "Oh, I see."
