On March 10th, after his cataclysmic Worlds free skate, Yuri Plisetsky drops off the face of the earth with a retirement announcement and a pledge not to return. On May 12th, a stranger moves into the house next door to Otabek’s. On May 15th, Otabek Altin looks out his bedroom window to find Yuri Plisetsky standing on his front lawn.
Huh.
OR: Yuri Plisetsky, freshly retired from a shitty final few seasons under none other than the Evil Bitch herself, moves to Kazakhstan. When some of the students at his dance studio begin mentioning a retired Kazakh skater, though, Yuri cannot fathom how he's never heard of him--- especially when, apparently, it's his star student's brother. (As a side note, his neighbor is super hot and seems unbothered by the whole pregnant-single-foreigner thing...)
TW: This fic contains themes of EDs, body image issues, abusive training practices, and the mental and physical recovery from all of the above. It's an important component of the fic, but not what it's centered around; that would be our Otayuri love story, because, duh. But sensitive parties, please exercise caution. <3

"Was that the beautiful piece of eye candy from a couple weeks ago?” Ash asked as she walked out of her workspace with a client.
“Yuri? Yeah, that was him,” Otabek affirmed, “He’s actually a really cool guy.”
“Think I could get his phone number?”
“Oh shit!” he shouted, darting around the counter and running out of the shop.
He caught Yuri right before he pulled out of his parking spot. Putting the car in park, he rolled the window down and waited for Otabek to reach the vehicle.
“Would it be possible to get your number?” Otabek asked, “Number one, I need to put it in my client record and number two, if something changes tomorrow I would want to let you know.”
“Sure,” Yuri replied, grinning from ear to ear as he took Otabek’s phone and entered his number into the contacts, “I don’t do phone calls, but text me anytime. Doesn’t have to be just to let me know about tomorrow.”
