When they both take a moment to catch their breath, and Zuko pets through Sokka’s hair after he sprawls on his chest, before snapping his eyes open and staring at the top of the igloo. “Uh…”
Sokka mumbles something like a question into his skin in response.
But Zuko is still staring, unblinking, whirling back the previous week in quick flashes and noting something that had not made it into their packs before they had hopped on Druk. Something that is definitely still sitting in a jar at his small bedroom tea station in the palace.

Zuko has always felt like a woman. After her mother's death, her father sends her to a healer who helps her become the woman she's always felt she is, even helping her grow breasts. Zuko, now Zuka, then becomes the most respected and feared general of the Fire Nation due to her multiple victories in the space of three years, being the one who took Omashu in just three days, captured King Bumi, and proclaimed the city as the new Ozai in honor of her father. Azula on the other hand is the cold, manipulative one who can get what she wants with words. Both are brilliant and due to the culture of the Fire Nation both they and their father, and even their uncle Iroh, are seen as goddesses. Ozai is proud of both of them.

Even more fun to catch Zuko’s knowing look from across the room, the bit of incredulous pride, and the little head tilt and raised brow that promises a reward the moment they are alone. Which only leads Sokka to do it more often, to craft his agreements better, to fall to his knees the moment the door to their quarters is shut and almost rip into Zuko’s robes to get them out of the way.
