How could he be so stupid?! He had barely got him to be his friend! Why did Hob have to turn around and be selfish and fall in love? Oh, this was bad. How was he supposed to look Dream in the eye next Saturday? Mainly, how was he supposed to not look at his lips and not think about how much he wanted to kiss him senseless and—oh no! Hob smacked his forehead and groaned.

" Yes." Hob responds while the kitten lays in his arms.

Summary
A few times Hob went a bit feral on Dream's behalf, with his fists.
The first one is the 'heaviest' one content wise and has someone harassing Dream in a bar. The second is Desire being a little shit. The third is an occultist attempting and failing to (seriously) fuck up Dream. Dream's reactions range from dissociation "why did you do that for me" and "wow that was weirdly attractive."
Maybe there will be more parts to this but who knows at the moment.

Desire does not always indulge in every single person's desires, they mostly leave them be. Unless the desire's, and dare they say, dream's are intriguing. Why should he care about a man's meesly desire for his dead son? he was not the first, nor the last neither the current one. This leads to an outcome noone foresaw. Besides, maybe, Destiny.
Death is caged within a ritual circle, but, as Death always said, noone can live forever. Not even Death herself, and if she's not doing her duties, then she has the responsiblity to continue the cycle of life and death. Even if it's by one of her siblings.

Dream strode away, letting his blades fade into shadows. "Do not call me Sweet Dream. You and your twin have eviscerated any sweetness I had in my heart for you."
"Dream, wait, please."
The sheer amount of desperation in their voice caused Dream to stop, if only for half a moment.
"We– I didn't mean for our games to– to go that far. I just wanted you–"
