Without thinking, he grabs Sokka by the front of his shirt, dropping their now-empty cups on the ground. He ignores Sokka’s yelp of surprise and pulls him down the hallway, opening the first door he finds and shoving Sokka inside it before jumping in after him and slamming the door shut.
Immediately, he realizes his mistake. Sokka is practically pressed against him and Zuko instinctively tries to step away, only for his back to hit a wall. His eyes slowly adjust to the sudden darkness and Zuko looks around.
Great, I just shoved Sokka into a fucking coat closet.

“I think your boyfriend might be on drugs or something.” Zuko kept one eye on Kiyi as his youngest sister gathered up her equipment, his other attention on the women beside him. He wasn’t too familiar with Suki, but he’d spoken to her a few times when dropping his sister off, or when running into each other at tournaments. He’d seen her at the apartment complex, and it hadn’t taken him too long to learn that she was sharing a place with a guy – the guy Zuko had developed quite a crush on.
Suki narrowed her gaze in confusion. “My boyfriend? I don’t have a boyfriend. Wait, do you mean my roommate, Sokka?”
He had misjudged their situation. “If that’s the guy you live with, who came to my work earlier today and nearly drowned himself with a cup of coffee, than ya that’s who I’m talking about. Think he’s on something.”
“Nah, Sokka’s just like that. He texted me about making a fool of himself. I know his flirting is pretty rough but couldn’t imagine it was that bad that he tried to drown himself.” Suki was laughing, waving as the students filled out.
Flirting? No, there was no way he was flirting. After all Zuko was… well he wasn’t the kind of guy that people flirted with.

Akio certainly had a healthy, fearful respect for members of the royal family. Better to be safe than rely on the comparatively shocking kindness of a child he barely knew three years ago. He was prepared to carry out every possible thing Firelord Zuko could conceive of wanting done. His royal hands would carry out no task unnecessarily.
When vague word arrived that one of the Firelord’s closest friends and advisors had some sort of injury, the role fell on Akio to offer medical assistance and gauge whether a visit to the infirmary was needed.
