Summary
In 1993, Gilderoy Lockhart points a stolen wand at Harry Potter and Ron Weasley with the intent to Obliviate them. The wand doesn't backfire. Gilderoy's "discovery" of the Chamber of Secrets is a short-term success.
Other consequences are not short-term at all.
Archived Author's Notes:
I was watching the Chamber of Secrets movie several years back when the scene in question began to play...and immediately I wanted to know what would happen if the wand had done what it was supposed to do. The answer got very complicated, very, *very* quickly.Blame Edgar Allan Poe for the title.

Summary

Summary
It's a crazy world torn straight out of a horror movie - the undead roam the earth and destroy everything in their wake. When Harry Potter narrowly escapes a horrible death he finds himself a companion in Tom Riddle - a mysterious, heartless man who doesn't hesitate to take lives to save his own. Savage as the man is, Harry still finds himself enthralled... He quickly starts developing strange needs and feelings.
When they decide to finally find a safe place to settle down for a while they encounter dangerous enemies on their path. Tom's past demons come back around to haunt the both of them and it becomes very clear that even after the years they spent together, Harry really doesn't know Tom at all.

Summary
When an aged Harry Potter arrives at King's Cross after his second and natural death, he is handed a pamphlet promising him The Next Great Adventure. Flatly refusing to board any Onward Train that won't guarantee him simple peace, Harry finds himself shunted back in time to 1989: a cranky old coot in his nine-year-old-body. Stuck, he decides to make the best of things, and to right his future before it screws him over again.
Once back at Hogwarts, though, Harry's plans are abruptly altered when his old friend Neville Longbottom informs him that he is actually part of a cross-dimensional rescue team on a mission - a mission that will not only prevent the local 2nd Wizarding War, but will grant the local Neville's parents, Alice and Frank, the chance to have the happy-ever-after that no version of them, in any world, ever received.
