With just a glance (it was a glance, he swears), it’s blatantly obvious that Alex is fairly drunk, hitting on tipsy, giggling women and scarfing down various canapes. Henry can only hope he stays far, far away from him, but of course, such is his luck that things never quite go his way.

____Inspired from a comment on one of my other fics - what if Alex was the royalty and Henry was just a normal, working class guy from London (or in this case, an ex-marine).

Summary
There is something about Henry. Alex doesn’t know when things changed between them. Before, he would cuddle in Alex’s arms and eagerly let the former First Son of the U.S. spoon him. He would give Alex a deep morning kiss, bad breath be damned. He would step inside the kitchen of their brownstone and make coffee for his fiancé before putting the kettle on and make himself a cup of tea. He would tease Alex from time to time about their wedding night “underwear”, and it would probably end with one of them on his knees, succumbing to love, lust, and pleasure altogether. But those are just a few of the moments missing from their domestic life in New York.
Or Henry finds out he’s a carrier and doesn’t know how to tell Alex, but that’s not the only thing he discovers when he flees to London.

Hello *hides behind something* I know it's been a few months and that this story looks abandoned, I've been busy and having writer's block so that's why the updates stopped. He’d come to love Alex like that, almost saying it the moment Alex blurted out, in his room, that no boy on earth would ever deserve him. Did he even hear himself? Someone like Henry? He? Henry Fox? A coward, a narcissist, a loner, an outcast, an exile. Someone who had lost his home, his family, his father. Someone who hadn’t been able to protect the people he loved. Someone who was left with a legacy as meaningless as it was sad, like a dead person’s scattered melodies he tried so hard to protect. So no. No one on earth had to bear the fucking disaster of a person that was Henry. Alex, out of everyone, shouldn’t have been the one who said that grandiloquent lie and yet, he’d said it, to his fucking face. And as someone who craved love as much as he feared it, Henry was so happy and so fucking in love, he almost let it out of his mouth.
Please have me, all the broken parts, all the scattered pieces, if you’re that brave.

Without looking up Alex answers, “Can I please get, one coffee with 5 espresso shots and a dash of cinnamon and --”
“Fuck, you’re Hot.” His mouth moved ahead before his mind could even comprehend what THE UTTER FUCK he just spewed. He quickly reprimands himself (mentally)... Just because this barista with the perfect shade of blue eyes, glass-cutting cheekbones and full pink lips looks so so so soft .. off the topic.“Excuse me?” Hot barista replies.
No man should have this good of a face and that voice.
