Summary
Dustin Henderson no longer has to be worried about the Upside Down. They've officially sealed the gate, even the government has given up. He can finally let go.
Except it's not right. Things aren't adding up. So, obviously, Dustin goes behind everyone's back and starts a little investigation. It's really nothing, just something to ease his nerves.
And then he starts getting results. There's a possibility that Vecna left something behind when he died, something that threatens to overtake their lives once more. But everyone's gone through enough already, so Dustin decides that this time, he'll handle it himself. And whatever secrets Vecna left behind will die, with or without Dustin.
(And if he accidentally gets Jason Carver roped in, and if they "accidentally" fall in love in the process...well, no one had to know.)
OR
everyone thinks its all over, but dustin knows something is up, which leads to one of the most dangerous passion projects he's ever partaken in.

Summary
Vecna was actually gone. The Upside Down was destroyed, forever. Three teens were avenged. All during the Spring Break of 1986.
Just because Vecna is destroyed, that doesn’t mean it’s all over. Eddie and Max are both hospitalized, tension is brewing between literally everyone, and worst of all- a ghost from Dustin’s past comes back for him, and he’s not sure he’ll make it out this time.
(My own take on a “Dustin is an experiment” AU featuring partycule, Steddie as Dustin’s older brother figures, good mama Claudia, and PLENTY of Dustin whump and appreciation)

In other words: The demon Vox and human Alastor time travel roadtrip fic that spiralled and suddenly gained a plot

Summary
What if the duffers actually cared about their queer characters? What if the lesson wasn't that you don't deserve love and that after suffering a lifetime of abuse you have to sacrifice yourself because nothing good can happen while you live? What if season 5 didn't suck?
After the world tore itself open, things in Hawkins started to look a bit different. The party and the military are separately working to solve this problem; the party by hunting Vecna, the military by hunting Eleven. The group is frustrated and doubtful after their major loss, but they are determined to succeed, the world needs them to. New abilities come to light, as do old feelings. Will the party survive the fight for the world and the relationship altering feelings that come to light?

Dustin Henderson stopped being himself the day Eddie Munson died, all that's left is a kid who can't stand the thought of losing anything else. He decides to never allow that kind of agony again, the problem is Steve Harrington. The asshole won't let him go, even when he puts distance between them the bastard won't move on. Dustin Henderson is as good as dead, and its about time people knew. Unfortunately for him, his plan would have to wait. The Upside down is about to erupt from the crevices left by Vecna, they can't wait any longer, and all they have are each other.
Or while facing new scary beasts of the underground, and forming a plan to take down Vecna once and for all. Steve tries to convince Dustin that he's loved - and learns to do it without getting angry.

But when he looked over at Dustin, the boy was fiddling with his rings, fixated on the floor with a vacant look in his eyes.

So when he found an old dusty box in his attic he thought nothing of it, but with his never ending thirst for knowledge he was curious as to what was inside, he should’ve remembered that curiosity killed the cat.“
I see a ton of “what if Steve had powers” fics but barely any Dustin ones, so I decided to write my own!

It wasn't the words that caught Ed's attention. That was nothing new. Just another inmate crying for help that he wasn't going to get. The man's voice however was completely different. It was hoarse and cracked halfway through the first word, but there was a strengh hidden behind it that made Ed want to know who it belonged to.
He risked a quick look out of his cell and saw a small man with black hair that was being dragged by two guards. His face looked absolutely devastated and his eyes shone with unshed tears and unexpressed emotions. It seemed like the guy was holding something back, something Ed was desperate to see the moment he first laid eyes on the man's small frame.What if Edward and Oswald met in Arkham for the first time? What if Edward was determined to turn Oswald back into the feared criminal he once was? What if they developed a friendship born out of necessity that might become something more?
