The Time Island burned down. Alice Moriarty and Isshiki Totomaru are confirmed to be "dead", even when their bodies have never been recovered from the ruins of the island.
Where does this lead our detective? Back to where he started.
However, this time, it's a little different than the Bloody Field Trip Incident. Because now Kamonohashi Ron is no longer alone. Even if the worst case scenario happened, there are still people who will help you get through it. A valuable lesson from the late officer.
Solving cases without his beloved partner won't be easy. But his life can't end here.
Who knows? Life is unpredictable and uncertain. There are many mysteries to be solved, afterall.

Summary
At first, he considers his fixation to be simple boredom. Going over the events that took place aboard the cruise ship is one of his only pastimes, and it’s important that he commit that hellish trip to memory, so that he can stop similar incidents from ever occurring again. However, no other faces come to him in his dreams. Not Mylo Moriarty nor Shachi act out their lines like a grainy, faded film. It’s only Toto: his scrunched up nose when he’s dissatisfied with Ron, his sheepish grin, the arch of his eyebrows. Every detail is as clear as if he were standing right in front of Ron.
Then, he concludes, it must be worry eating at him. The knot of choked up emotions won’t leave him until he can be sure that Toto is alright, that he made it out of this without anything other than a few scars.

Such was the life of Isshiki Totomaru. Bound into a marriage of convenience with Kamonohashi Ron, his days have gotten since more stressful. It does not help that there are even worse problems out there, and on top of that, he has to watch out for his magical persona, Menodora's, enemy, a half demon hybrid known as Kamo, who just could not leave him alone.
Interestingly enough, Kamo was his husband Ron's alter ego. And the best part? Neither of them know about each other's double lives.

Amamiya and Chikory fell silent in embarrassment. Toto and Ron exchanged glances. Chicory coughed and explained.
“Well... Kamonohashi-san, do you mind if we put a collar on you that Isshiki-san will hold you by?"
