Summary
A blue light. That was the first thing Sam saw when he opened his eyes. Although, it wasn’t like any kind of light he had seen before. This was more of a… shimmer. It left a sheen on everything it touched. The fragments of their ship. The strange surface beneath Sam’s feet. The top of Bucky’s head as he lay in the dirt, staring up at the sky.
When revered astronaut Steve Rogers' spaceship disappeared without a trace, those he left behind mourned him. In particular, his two closest friends, Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes. A year later, an anomaly is detected close to Steve's last known location, forcing the unlikely pairing of Sam and Bucky to work together to solve Steve's disappearance. Living in close proximity to each other on mission CAELUM-19, the duo must make difficult decisions in the most pressurised environment imaginable, all while Bucky continues to mourn Steve's death. The man who he once loved, but who he never expressed his feelings to, and while Sam deals with Bucky's temperamental nature and his changing feelings towards him. Will they find Steve alive, giving Bucky and Steve another chance, or will Sam and Bucky's relationship blossom under the circumstances?

Summary
All the times he’d longed for Steve to talk to him that way, to touch him, and it had to be now. He watched as Steve got lost in a sea of men, the wave carrying him along. Below them the artillery was making its way up through the valley as the 107th, swollen with fresh replacements, tore through the Germans’ territory, preparing to pound them into oblivion. In a short time, the planes would be lighting those tanks up and turning the forest to toothpicks. Bucky looked at his hand. Maybe I’ll just evaporate, because I’m not supposed to be here. I would have ended up like all those other experiments.

Summary
Steve and Bucky are a lot of things. Roommates. Best friends. Detective partners. And saddled with a new case.
Island 1 Space Colony does not see a lot of homicides, unless it's death by red tape while navigating the labyrinthine colony administration. The homicides that do happen are usually solved pretty quickly, too. But this time nobody's talking and everybody's trying to stick their noses in Steve and Bucky's business.
Caught between the military's shady dealings, temperamental higher-ups and a witness that keeps slipping through their fingers, Steve and Bucky don't have a lot of time for their own personal drama. With this case, they might have bit off more than they can chew.
