Summary
After a string of terrible events, Yae Miko is left poor and alone, but when all hope is lost, a divine goddess swoops down from the heavens and scoops Miko into her arms. Figuratively, of course. Now, taking shelter on the aloof Raiden Ei's couch, Miko must figure out how to win her heart. For an alluring, young woman like Miko, it would be no difficult task to accomplish, but things are never as easy as they seem. Ei's two children will ensure that.

You do it then, she had told the Guuji.
Or, an alternate universe where rather than freeing the prototype like intended, Ei leaves it to the hands of Yae Miko instead.

Summary
500 years ago in her pursuit of eternity Ei made a puppet, a protoype, a proof of concept who shed tears upon his creation.
She felt like she owes him something, she didn't want to assert control over him, so she let him go to live his life free from her burdens, with a feather to prove his connection to her, and her connection to him. She thought of it as freedom. She thought she did what was best for him. She thought she made the right choice.
Never did she think she put the boy through the loss of his family, just like how she lost hers the day Makoto died.
