The hot water kettle is just a bit too heavy at breakfast one morning and Nico loses his grip. Lewis is next to him at the buffet table of the hotel and catches it out of reflex; Nico knows better than to think it’s kindness. He stares at where Nico’s fingers are still refusing to cooperate.
"What happened to your hand?"
"Nerves" - Nico answers with a shrug, glad for the double meaning in the English phrasing.

“He looks different in pink,” Liam remarks, halfway to a joke. Yuki hates it. It reminds him of all the distance between them, all the words he’s too scared—too late to say. There’s a gap between them, now. It's mountainous. It’s brutal.

Ryo sniffs the air and smells a familiar sweet scent - it smells like flowery peaches blooming in the heart of summer, ripened and sugary. The scent was pinkish, almost like a waft of perfume if he didn’t register where the source was coming from.
“Sakuya, do you smell that? It’s coming from you.” Ryo points out while they share ice cream, pointing at him with his eyebrow raised.
Sakuya pauses, looking puzzled for a second before he takes a fistful of his shirt to his face, breathing in, before letting it go with his eyes widened. Then he regards Ryo with a surprised look as if the realization finally dawns on him.
“Oh, it is coming from me.”
His tone of voice is too calm for someone realizing that he’s likely presenting soon. Ryo internally panics.

Tokuno Yushi, once upon a time, was under the impression that he lived a normal life. Chaotic? Sure. Unconventional? Most certainly. But still painfully normal.
But then he debuted in Wish and ended up being the only beta in a dorm full of pups and alphas and whatever Riku has going on, and sure enough, normal is just about the least fitting descriptor he could use to describe the world he’s been thrown into.
Case in point:
“I’m pretty sure Daeyoungie is trying to court you,” Riku says one morning, as the two of them are huddled around the Keurig, half-asleep. “And I’m pretty sure everyone has noticed except for you.”

Yushi is perfectly fine with being Wish's beta, thank you very much. He could tell you that he's glad he doesn't have to deal with the same disgusting hormones his hyungs do, and he's had enough of their bullshit as it is.
However, Daeyoung starts acting weird. Touchy, close, a tiny bit possessive. It's not like Yushi minds. He might even like it.
But just to be clear, that doesn't mean Daeyoung wants to court him. Right?
